Am I too old to attend college?

Probably not.  The average age of our students across all of our campuses is around 30 years old.  Keep in mind that this is an average meaning we have students who are 18 years old and students into their sixties.  Our oldest graduate was 72 years old when he graduated just a few years ago.  With that in mind, our financial aid advisers and admissions advisers can help you evaluate your education as an investment to make sure that it makes sense for your specific situation.

Does Gwinnett Institute's Orange County campus offer placement assistance?

Yes.  Each of our campuses employs at least one placement officer.  Our placement officers work with students as they approach graduation with interviewing skills, resume building, job search projects, and externship placement.  Many of our graduates are hired by their externship sites and the rest work closely with our placement office as they search for their dream job.

Can I receive financial aid to help cover the cost of tuition and books while I attend Gwinnett Institute?

All of our campuses are accredited and are approved to offer Federal Student Aid.  Our admissions team will help coordinate your meeting with the financial aid office so that the financial aid officer can help explain the different types of federal aid you may qualify for.  They’ll explain the difference between the different grant and loan programs and help find the financial aid package that’s right for you.  During this process, they will prepare an estimated award letter to help explain how your financial aid package will help cover the cost of tuition and books.  As always, financial aid is available to those who qualify.

Can I transfer my credits from Gwinnett Institute to other schools? How about transferring credits into Gwinnett Institute that I’ve taken at other schools?

The transferring of credit from one of our schools depends entirely on the policy of the receiving institution.  For our associate degree graduates, we have actively developed articulation agreements and memoranda of understanding with several bachelor’s degree granting institutions like Devry University, University of Phoenix, and National American University.  These agreements have eased the process of transferring credits from our associate degree programs and into bachelor’s degree offering universities.

We also transfer credits from other institutions into our own.  We are able to transfer credits for courses that were taken within the last five years, where you received a “C” or better, from an institution that is accredited by a recognized accrediting body, and that are substantially equal in credit to the courses in your chosen program.  We can evaluate the possibility of transfer credit based on reviewing an unofficial transcript but we will need an official transcript to complete the transfer.

How can I fit classes into my already busy schedule?

Going back to school is tough.  Don’t let anyone tell you differently.  If you’re like many of our students, you may be juggling work, a family, and just life in general.  All of our college locations offer day and night classes and may even have some scheduling flexibility to help you attend on more of a part-time basis.  Just communicate with your admissions adviser to find out which options will work best for you.

How can I apply for admission to Gwinnett Institute's Orlando Campus? What about the other campuses?
